Nathan Sinclair, Manager of the Cyber Defense Team for the City & County of San Francisco Department of Technology, plays a key role in protecting the City and its 30,000 employees. The Cyber Defense Team is a Central service that provides cybersecurity monitoring and alerting for the entire organization. Before joining the Department of Technology, Nathan worked for the Oakland Unified School District. Starting as an intern in high school, Nathan worked his way up through the ranks from an entry level computer tech, senior tech and eventually Network Admin. Providing key support for admin staff, teachers and students.

Jon Ford

Jon Ford

Director of Global Strategy and Operations for Government Solutions, FireEye

Mr. Ford is a 20-year veteran in cybersecurity, incident response, and intelligence led cyber operations in both government and commercial sectors. Prior to joining FireEye, Mr. Ford served in executive leadership roles for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) at FBI Headquarters’ Cyber and Special Technologies Divisions as well as field offices gaining experience on the front lines. Mr. Ford served as the responsible executive to the U.S. Cryptologic Centers for strategic and tactical oversight of global cyber operations and key asset protection. In these roles. Mr. Ford developed the framework used by the U.S. Government to manage risk of cyber threats supporting government and critical infrastructure capabilities receiving recognition by the White House National Security Council and the United States Congress.
Currently, Mr. Ford serves as Director of Global Strategy and Operations for Government Solutions at FireEye. Mr. Ford is the FireEye responsible executive to multi- & bi-lateral strategic partnerships throughout the world. In these roles, Mr. Ford leads global teams of cyber experts who not only respond to the largest breaches and crisis events world-wide, but also delivers executive thought leadership, national capacity capabilities, and unique security program capabilities and solutions to protect critical missions, infrastructure, and national security interests worldwide.
Mr. Ford serves as an adjunct professor teaching advanced curricula on cybersecurity and risk frameworks at St. Mary’s University. Mr. Ford is a graduate of Harvard, John F. Kennedy School on Cybersecurity Policy; a graduate of Northwestern University, Kellogg School of Business in Strategic Change Leadership; and a graduate of Carnegie Melon University’s series on Insider Threats. Mr. Ford is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), a Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), a Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), and a Leadership Professional in Ethics and Compliance (LPEC) professional. Mr. Ford also holds several Global Information Assurance Certifications (GIAC). Mr. Ford is the recipient of the Director of National Intelligence Certificate of Distinction and Meritorious Unit Citation.

Deb Snyder

Deb recently retired from her position as New York state’s chief information security officer (CISO) after over 35 years of public service.

In that role, as part of New York state’s information technology transformation and consolidation initiative, she helped redesign how the state protects its data. As state CISO, she directed the state’s comprehensive cybersecurity governance, risk management and compliance program, providing strategic leadership and vision, and assuring business-aligned, risk-based investments that maximized business opportunity and minimized cybersecurity risk. She also directed the NYS Cyber Command Center, hotline, procedures for reporting and response to cyberthreats, and digital forensics.

She holds multiple industry certifications including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP); Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC); SANS Strategic Planning, Policy, and Leadership (GSTRT) Global Information Assurance Certification; and Project Management Institute certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
