Vince Kellen is the Chief Information Officer for the University of California, San Diego, as well as a member of the Chancellor's Cabinet, and vice chancellor and chief financial officer's senior management team. UC San Diego is recognized as a top 15 university world-wide and 7th best public university in the world, with over $1.1 billion in annual research funding, 36,000 students, 16 Nobel laureates who have taught on its campus and 161 faculty with national Academy memberships.

CIO, Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and former Director, Center for Computational Research, University of Buffalo

Dr. Furlani serves as Chief Information Officer at the Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, where he oversees all information technology related clinical and research activities. Prior to Roswell Park, Dr. Furlani was Director of the University at Buffalo's Center for Computational Research (CCR). A National Science Foundation Predoctoral Fellow, Dr. Furlani has more than 30 years experience in high performance computing, including scientific computing, computational chemistry and parallel processing. Dr. Furlani serves as principal investigator on several externally funded projects, including the ACCESS MMS award, which develops and maintains the XDMoD tool for monitoring HPC resources. In addition, Dr. Furlani was the 2019 Chair of the Practice and Experience in Advanced Research Computing Conference (PEARC).

Brian Cohen — Moderator

Vice President, Center for Digital Government and Center for Digital Education

Brian Cohen is the Vice President of the Center for Digital Government and Center Digital Education. Prior to joining the Center, Brian served for 30 years in IT leadership roles with the City of New York and most recently with the City University of New York (CUNY). As the Vice-Chancellor and University CIO at CUNY, Brian directed the Office of Computing and Information Services (CIS), developed, and managed the enterprise IT vision, strategy and day-to-day technology operations of the University. His areas of focus included academic and business systems, cloud strategies, IT policies and procedures, Cybersecurity, project management, IT resiliency and disaster recovery, and network and telecommunications. During his time with the City of New York, Brian developed the City of New York’s E-Government strategy, implemented the City’s award-winning nyc.gov website, and managed the City’s effort to address the Y2K technology challenge.
