Students arriving on higher education campuses today have high expectations. They are students armed with multiple devices, instant access to friends, information and can get pretty much anything they want delivered to their door within one to two days. Technology has always been present in their lives – they don’t necessarily care how it works; they just want it to provide what they need, when they need it – Now.

As campuses strive to recruit and retain the digitally engaged student, they must make the student service experience – from before students arrive on campus until after they graduate – as seamless and positive as possible. It’s an issue EDUCAUSE called out in its Top 10 IT Issues list for 2020, noting the importance of  “creating a student-services ecosystem to support the entire student life cycle, from prospecting to enrollment, learning, job placement, alumni engagement and continuing education.”
