Darren Nielsen

Lead Editor, Industry Insider — Texas

Darren Nielsen is the lead editor for Industry Insider — Texas. He has worked for, or with, newspapers across Texas, including The Dallas Morning News and the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, beginning in 1994. He has also worked as an editor for a major tech company. He lives in Austin.

Fred McKee

Director of Market Insights, e.Republic

Fred is a SLED market professional with a passion for public service and technology. He has a unique combination of real-world technology experience and a deep understanding of how governments work. Fred has been a “Techy” since high school when he ran a computer repair and network administration business and later worked as a quality assurance intern with Advanced Matrix Technology (AMT/Datasouth). Fred has been with e.Republic for over 14 years. He was instrumental in the design and operation of the current version of the Industry Navigator product and continues to identify new ways to simplify the gov tech market. Fred is a lifelong 5th generation Californian. He has a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from U.C. Davis. He currently lives Fair Oaks with his wife and two daughters. Fred’s other passions include snowboarding, baseball, and local government politics.
