Francisco Castillo

Government Strategist for Critical Infrastructure, Palo Alto Networks

Francisco brings over 20 years of senior-level security and technology management experience to the Public Sector team at Palo Alto Networks focused on innovative security solutions. Prior to joining Palo Alto Networks, Francisco spent 12 years as a chief architect and senior security advisor supporting the Department of State where he won several awards for special security projects from inter-bureau working groups, in addition to holding positions within the key Department of Defense and other agencies.

 

Jeremy D. Brown

Consulting Director, Palo Alto Networks

Jeremy D. Brown is a seasoned cyber security professional who until recently managed the Security Operations Center (SOC) and the incident response team for the U.S. federal court system. He has extensive experience in the areas of network threats, threat hunting, attacks, attack vectors, and methods of exploitation, along with an understanding of intrusion set tactics, techniques, and procedures. He joined the team in 2018, after nearly three years at AT&T Technical Services, from where he served the federal judiciary with guidance and oversight regarding incident response and procedures. He was also responsible for training other team members on malware identification and containment, reverse engineering, and incident response. In addition, Jeremy also honed his offensive security skills working alongside the “red team” which conducted phishing campaigns, social engineering exercises, and both physical and cyber security assessments.

 

Teri Takai — Moderator

Vice President, e.Republic

Teri Takai is the Vice President of the Center for Digital Government, a national research and advisory institute on information technology policies and best practices in state and local government. She worked for Ford Motor Company for 30 years in global application development and information technology strategic planning. From Ford, she moved to EDS in support of General Motors. A long-time interest in public service led her to the government sector, first as CIO of the State of Michigan, then as CIO of the State of California, and subsequently the CIO of the U.S. Department of Defense, the first woman appointed to this role. She then served as the CIO for Meridian Health Plan. She is a member of several industry advisory boards. Teri has won numerous awards including Governing Magazine’s Public Official of the Year, CIO Magazine’s CIO Hall of Fame, Government Technology Magazine’s Top 25 Doers, Dreamers & Drivers, the Women in Defense Excellence in Leadership Award, and the Department of Defense Medal for Distinguished Public Service.
