Managing and maintaining roads, bridges, dams, water systems and more is a time-consuming, expensive and sometimes dangerous process. But it’s critical work, especially as America grapples with infrastructure that needs repair. According to the ASCE’s latest report card, 42 percent of the nation’s bridges are at least 50 years old, 43 percent of our public roadways are in poor or mediocre condition, and a water main breaks somewhere in the country once every two minutes.

Technology offers a smarter and faster way forward. IoT sensors, drones and artificial intelligence can help operators monitor, manage and even maintain infrastructure assets by predicting failures and prioritizing repairs.

Join Government Technology on March 23 at 10 a.m. Pacific/1 p.m. Eastern as we talk with Claus Klint from IBM about how they are working with Sund & Baelt, a company that owns and operates some of the largest infrastructures in the world, to revolutionize work on the Great Belt Bridge in Denmark – the world’s fifth largest suspension bridge. We’ll discuss how you can apply these tools to your own infrastructure and how the potential for new funding from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act can help get you started.
