The State of Michigan offers a free mobile app, called Michigan Secure, to help protect its residents’ mobile devices and digital lives. Michigan Secure, which was built by Zimperium, is a free mobile app that alerts users if their mobile device or tablet encounters threats, such as a potentially risky Wi-Fi network or a phishing text, and offers recommendations on how to address the risk.

Michigan Secure, the first-ever mobile security tool to be made available for free to an entire state, has already won numerous accolades, including the 2021 State IT Innovation of the Year award from StateScoop.

To help protect more Michiganders with this cutting edge offering, representatives from the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) and Zimperium will present a webinar about the benefits of the app and why you should promote it to your constituents, including:

Why the State of Michigan is offering the app to its residents
How the app protects against device, network, application, and phishing threats
Why you should promote the app – at zero cost to your agency or your constituents

Deborah Snyder — Moderator

Deborah is an accomplished C-level executive, influencer and educator who has dedicated her career to improving state and local government services for the citizens of New York state through policy and technology innovation. She has a broad range of experience in government, policy, cybersecurity, privacy and information technology. She recently retired from the position of New York state’s chief information security officer, where she led the state’s cybersecurity programs and directed the NYS Cyber Command Center. She works with organizations and universities to strengthen cybersecurity defenses and preparedness, and to create and inspire the next generation of cyber leaders.

JT Keating

JT Keating leads all of Zimperium’s marketing efforts including lead generation, public relations and analyst relations. He has brought software and mobile communications solutions to market for 30 years.

Jayson Cavendish

Deputy Chief Security Officer, Michigan Department of Technology

Jayson Cavendish is the Deputy Chief Security Officer for DTMB's Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Protection. Jayson brings a unique blend of strengths to the role, including leadership, vision, and strategic planning, along with the ability to promote collaboration at all levels to support critical, high-level statewide projects to successful completion. As part of DTMB's leadership team, Jayson has helped to formulate and implement policies, strategic plans, directives, and organizational structure. Jayson leads several Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Protection committees, as well as programs at the local and state level.
