Matt Singleton

Executive Strategist, Crowdstrike

Matt Singleton is an Executive Strategist at Crowdstrike, Professor of Cybersecurity at the University of Oklahoma and former chief information security officer for the State of Oklahoma where he completely rebuilt Oklahoma Cyber Command into a world-class program and launched the Oklahoma Information Sharing and Analysis Center. Previously, Matt served as chief operations officer for the state’s information services division, state CIO for Education and in multiple leadership roles for the University of Oklahoma. Matt holds a master’s degree from Georgetown University in Applied Intelligence, specializing in Cyber Intelligence, Homeland Security, and Counterterrorism, a bachelor’s from OU and multiple industry certifications.

Executive Government Advisor, Amazon Web Services (AWS)

As an Executive Government Advisor, Maria specializes in helping customers establish a security first baseline within their environments. Maria works with security and technology leadership for customers, identifying trends, best practices, and assisting them in developing holistic security strategies. Maria also works with Amazon Web Services (AWS) security partners and supports state and local government (SLG) policy and regulatory. Prior to joining AWS in 2021, Maria was the State Chief Risk and Security Officer for the State of North Carolina. Maria also worked in federal and joint military organizations in various security roles including Senior Security Architect and Security Operations Center lead. Maria retired after 20 years of service from the United States Marine Corps, as the Information Assurance and Cybersecurity Chief.

Executive Director, Center for Digital Government

John Matelski is the Executive Director of the Center for Digital Government. Prior to joining the Center, Matelski served for 25 years as an Information Technology & Security executive for municipal (City of Orlando, FL) and county government (Gwinnett County, GA), most recently retiring from DeKalb County, GA after 12 years of service. John’s duties included executive management of all information technology and security resources and systems that support operations and drive innovation throughout the County enterprise. As DeKalb County CIO, he oversaw more than 100 employees serving ~800 million residents. John has won numerous awards including Government Technology’s Top 25 Doers, Dreamers and Drivers, State of Georgia CIO ORBIE Award Finalist, and the Computerworld/Smithsonian Laureate Award for Information Technology. During his tenure with DeKalb County, Matelski was also very active in technology leadership roles with the National Association of Counties (NACo), having served as Chair of the IT Standing Committee, Vice Chair of the Telecommunication & Technology Committee, and Vice Chair of the County Technology Advisory Council.
