In hindsight, the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. In what turned out to a be a prescient move, in 2018 the State of Arizona began transitioning nearly 40,000 employees and contractors to Google G Suite to enhance security, scalability and ease of use. At the time, the state’s employees were using 10 separate email systems and could not effectively collaborate in real-time through tools like videoconferencing.
In less than a year, the state, with the help of SADA, migrated 22,000 employees to G Suite, with 14,000 more following shortly thereafter. Today, state leaders and employees are enjoying an environment where, despite the COVID-19 pandemic, they are improving productivity through real-time collaboration tools; increasing security by identifying malicious email that eluded the previous system; and saving millions of dollars in storage, administration and licensing costs.
