Desai holds an MBA/MA-Public Policy from the University of Chicago and a BBA from Loyola University Chicago.

Eve Machol is the Director, Transportation Industry Transformation for the US State and Local Government market at Microsoft, with a focus on IoT, Data Analytics and Business Applications. She has engaged with US airports, railways, and State DOTs to showcase innovation through modern technologies and real-time data insights, which will improve operational excellence and enhance the citizen journey experience. Eve’s focus includes driving Microsoft’s strong strategic partnership with Bentley in leveraging Digital Twin and mixed reality capabilities for the public sector transportation market. The breadth and depth of Eve’s experience is focused on integrating services with software solutions, and working with AEC firms and other industry partners. Her deep industry relationships with clients, partners, professional associations and work groups has helped in shaping Microsoft’s focus on the US Transportation market.

Lomme Devriendt

Senior Manager at the Acceleration Initiatives, Bentley Systems

Lomme Devriendt is Senior Manager at the Acceleration Initiatives within Bentley Systems, responsible for Business Development of the Orbit 3DM product line. He received his master's degrees in Land Surveying and Geography at Ghent University, Belgium in 2004. In 2010, Lomme finished his PhD with a doctoral degree in Geography at the same university. He was a visiting scholar at the University of Kentucky and a Research Fellow of the Globalization and World Cities Research Network during these years. After his Phd, Lomme started working for 4 years at Eurotronics, Belgium as Photogrammetry Production manager, followed by 6 years at Orbit GeoSpatial Technologies, Belgium as CSO, responsible for all Sales and Partner Relations within the company. Orbit GeoSpatial Technologies delivered software solutions and services for dedicated markets specialized in Mobile Mapping, UAS Mapping, Oblique Mapping and Photogrammetry and was acquired by Bentley Systems in November 2019.

Bob Bennett — Moderator

Senior Fellow, Center for Digital Government

Bob Bennett is a Senior Fellow at the Center for Digital Government and the founder of B2 Civic Solutions, an international smart cities consultancy firm based in Parkville, Mo. From 2016 to 2019 he served in Mayor Sly James’ administration as the Chief Innovation Officer for the City of Kansas City, Mo. During his tenure, he oversaw the city’s smart city initiatives including a 54-block total digitalization pilot, strategy development for the city and P3-based expansion plans. Kansas City’s initiatives earned the city an Edison Award (Gold) for “Collective Disruption” and civic innovation in 2017, and Bob was named one of GovTech’s Top 25 Doers, Dreamers and Drivers in 2018. Before his role with the city, Bob completed a 25-year career in the U.S. Army which included service as a Strategist, a Battalion Commander and multiple combat tours.
