Sacramento County’s 311 Connect offering provides a critical service to the area’s approximately 1.5 million residents by allowing them to log service requests for a variety of needs, from animal care issues to waste management concerns. Previously, it was time-consuming and cumbersome for the county to mine and report on the mountains of data collected from the system.

On Jan. 26 at 11am PT/2pm ET, Sacramento County is joining Government Technology to discuss how a move to advanced analytics in the cloud dramatically increases employees’ ability to mine 311 data, create visualizations and enhance customer service. Previously the finance director and later CIO for Manor, Texas, a small city outside Austin, Haisler quickly built a track record and reputation as an early innovator in civic tech. As Chief Innovation Officer, Haisler has a strategic role to help shape the company’s products, services and future direction. Primarily, he leads e.Republic Labs, a market connector created as an ecosystem to educate, accelerate and ultimately scale technology innovation within the public sector.

Deidre Andrus is a civil servant and leader who is passionate about improving processes and delivering excellent government service. She is a lifelong learner and consummate team player who believes in open communication and breaking down organizational silos to foster increased efficiency and reduced waste. She is a Gulf War Veteran and retired United States Army Lieutenant Colonel. Following her military service Deidre led organizations at the State of Washington, King County, Washington and Sacramento County, California. Deidre earned her Bachelor of Science in Public Administration at Seattle University and her Master’s in Public Administration at Central Michigan University. She recently completed her Executive Education Certification in Public Leadership at the Harvard Kennedy School.

Dan Vlamis is the CEO and president of Vlamis Software Solutions, which he founded in 1992. In his role, Dan sells and oversees all consulting projects, and is an expert in Oracle-based BI, data warehousing and analytics. Prior to starting Vlamis Software Solutions, Dan was a tech services representative for IRI Software for 5 years. Dan resides in Liberty, Missouri and is a graduate of Brown University, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science.

Jim Wakefield is a Senior Solution Engineering Manager at Oracle. He leads a team of data warehousing and analytics specialists within the government and education sales organization. He has worked at Oracle for 26 years, helping federal, state, and local government customers leverage Oracle’s cloud and on-premises technology products. Jim resides in Ontario, California and received a B.S. in computer information systems from California Polytechnic State University, Pomona.
