Colin Ahern

Deputy CISO for Security Sciences, New York City Cyber Command

Colin Ahern is the Deputy Chief Information Security Officer for the City of New York and leads Security Sciences for NYC Cyber Command, where he oversees citywide defensive technology, cybersecurity architecture, software engineering, and data science. He started his career in the US Army and was awarded the Bronze Star (Meritorious) for his service in Afghanistan, and ended his Army service as a company commander in the Army Cyber Brigade. Colin is also an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs and a term member at the Council on Foreign Relations. Colin holds degrees from Tulane University and New York University and lives with his wife and two children in Brooklyn.

Chris Hein

Head of Customer Engineering, Public Sector Google Cloud

Chris Hein runs the Customer Engineering team for Public Sector in Google Cloud. He’s been with Google for 7 years as a Solution Architect, Technical Evangelist, and now Head of Customer Engineering. During that time Chris has helped Fortune 10 companies and state governments alike work more like Google. His goal is to help public sector organizations become more efficient and effective in furthering their mission using best in breed technologies and methodologies.

Deborah is accomplished C-level influencer, with a broad range of experience in government, policy, cyber security, privacy and information technology. An experienced and highly-respected thought-leader who has held executive roles for over two decades. She recently retired from her position as New York State’s Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), after over 35 years of public service. In that role, as part of New York State's information technology transformation and consolidation initiative, she helped redesign how the state protects its data. As State CISO, she directed the State’s comprehensive cyber security governance, risk management and compliance program, providing strategic leadership and vision, and assuring business-aligned, risk-based investments that maximized business opportunity and minimized cyber security risk.
