He currently leads a team of over 200 managers, pre-sales engineers and architects that help public sector organizations apply technology to better achieve their mission of protecting, serving, and educating their communities. With more than 25 years of experience in leadership and technology sales, Mike has built a reputation for staying current on business and technology trends, building relationships with customer and partner executives for mutual feedback and success, and leading highly engaged teams. He is an active coach and mentor for new and aspiring leaders. Mike started his technology career as a Communications Officer in the US Air Force, transitioned to IT consulting for the Indiana State Government, and has held technical sales leadership roles in Cisco’s public and private sector teams. Marcus leads System Engineering for US Public Sector. He and his team of Systems Engineering Leaders, Systems Engineers and Architects are responsible for the discovery of business/mission requirements and the design of a secure, intelligent platform to support the digital business journey of our Public Sector customers, both directly and through partners. As a 22 year Cisco veteran, Marc has extensive experience in the Public Sector, Enterprise, and Commercial Territory/Select business sectors and has held roles with increasing responsibility starting as a Systems Engineer, SE Manager, Senior SE Manager and now Director. He also achieved his Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert Certification (CCIE #10079) in 2002.

Phil Bertolini is the Vice President of the Center for Digital Government (CDG), a national research and advisory institute on information technology policies and best practices in state and local government. Previously, he served as deputy county executive and CIO for Oakland County, Michigan. During his 31-year tenure, Phil built a world-class IT organization in the second-largest county in Michigan, just north of Detroit. As Oakland County CIO, he oversaw more than 150 employees serving over 1.2 million residents. In 2005, he was also promoted to deputy county executive, holding dual positions until his retirement. Phil’s efforts earned the county national attention, winning numerous awards for technology innovation and excellence. He was named one of Governing Magazine’s Public Official of the Year and Government Technology Magazine’s Top 25 Doers, Dreamers & Drivers. He was also honored by the President Obama White House as a Champion of Change for 2012.
