Teri leads our government programs and oversees our national think tanks for public-sector policy in technology, the Centers for Digital Government and Education. She began her career working for Ford Motor Co. in global application development and IT strategic planning. A long-time interest in public service led her to the government sector, first as CIO of the State of Michigan, then as CIO of the State of California and subsequently the CIO of the U.S. Department of Defense (the first woman appointed to this role!). Teri has won numerous awards including: Governing Magazine’s Public Official of the Year CIO Magazine’s CIO Hall of Fame Government Technology Magazine’s Top 25 Doers, Dreamers & Drivers Women in Defense Excellence in Leadership Award Department of Defense Medal for Distinguished Public Service Teri’s extensive expertise in the private and public sectors has made her an indispensable member of our executive leadership team

Chief Information Officer, City of Detroit, MI

Art Thompson is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the City of Detroit, Department of Innovation and Technology (DoIT). Prior to this appointment, Art served as the Director of Public Safety and Cyber Security for DoIT. Art is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University with a degree in Supply Chain Management. He has over fifteen (15) years of technical experience with the public safety environment and managing both union and non-union employees across multiple areas. Art possess strong technical skills include radio management, Cyber Security, mobile technology, and desktop installation, as well as software and hardware maintenance. His responsibilities included, but were not limited to, managing Desktop Support, Mobility Support, Network Administration and Cyber Security Teams all of which he confidently championed. Art began his career with DoIT as the Manager for Mobility Support. His accomplishments as Manager further revealed his advanced technical skills and managerial abilities, which lead to his promotion to Director. After serving nearly three (3) years as Director, he further excelled in management and in handling budgetary issues. Art’s vision, dedication, motivation, and commitment to the City of Detroit, ultimately lead to his appointed as CIO.

Chief Information Officer, Clark County, NV

Bob Leek is Chief Information Officer for Clark County, Nevada, supporting over 2.4M residents, 70K businesses, and over 43M visitors to Las Vegas and surrounding areas every year. He has over twenty-five years of leadership experience, including almost twenty years in information technology disciplines. Before joining Clark County, Bob worked in public sector county government, both human and pet health care in non-profit organizations, and commercial online retail services. His experience includes leadership roles in retail operations, corporate financial reporting and decision support system development, sales, international operations, logistics management, and bringing inclusion and equity to nurture the individual growth of his diverse staff in recruiting, supervision, and retention activities. His previous teams include Multnomah County (Oregon), Kaiser Permanente, Banfield Pet Hospital, and Egghead.com.

Ted Ross is CIO for the City of Los Angeles and General Manager of the Information Technology Agency (ITA). His department of 450 employees delivers enterprise IT services to 48,000 employees across 41 City departments and digital services to over 4 million residents. Appointed by Mayor Eric Garcetti in 2015, Ted has over 21 years of private and public sector technology experience, earning various awards along the way, including #1 Digital City, Top 25 Doer & Dreamer, and CIO of the Year according to LA Business Journal. Ted has been featured in Fortune Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, and The Economist, as well as, a presenter at many conferences, such as the Andreessen-Horowitz Tech Summit, Milken Institute, and India’s NASSCOM.
